One of our favorite adventures   Childcare is available from 7:00 AM TO 5:30 PMPlease bring a lunch, a drink, 2 snacks and a water bottle  Dress appropriately for the weather $35 per day - **no refunds****PLEASE NOTE** The Mashpee Recreation Department is committed to providing a safe and accessible program for all children. Persons with limitations or conditions that require special accommodations are welcome to participate in all programs that are compatible with their interests and abilities. Every effort will be made to accommodate participants however, the availability of Mashpee Recreation’s resources may limit one on one support or children whose needs cannot be met within our 10:1 ratio. Join one of the fastest-growing sports in the Northeast!  Pickleball is a fun game that is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34” at the center.  It’s played with a ball similar to a whiffle ball and wooden or composite paddles.  It’s easy for beginners to learn, but it can develop quickly into a fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.  Come join the fun!  Equipment will be provided.Days: Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00PM.Monday nights: Intermediate playersWednesday nights: Beginner playersThursday nights: Intermediate and Advanced players

It is both an honor and a responsibility for Renshi Adelstein to bring Isshinryu to Cape Cod.

We will be using the American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim Program.  This will help your child become a better and more proficient swimmer.  It is designed to give swimmers of all ages and abilities water safety skills as well as being a positive learning experience.  Learn-to-swim teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression.For all swimming lessons...please be sure to list any information the teacher should know (i.e. allergies, learning style, medical issues) Intro to Water Skills - Level 1For children 5 & up.  Class is limited to 6.Skills that will be taught in level 1: enter & exit the water using a ramp, steps or side, blow bubbles for 3 seconds, bobbing - 5 times, open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects, front & back glide, back float, roll from front to back, treading water arm and hand actions, alternating and simultaneous leg and arm actions on front & back, combined arm and leg actions on front and back.  This class is 40 mins.Fundamentals - Level 2For Grades 1st & Up.   Prerequisite - Must have had conquered all the milestones listed in Level 1.  Class is limited to 6.Skills that will be taught in level 2: enter & exit the water using a ramp, steps or side, fully submerge and hold breath, bobbing - 10 times, open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects, front & back glide, back float, roll from front to back, treading water for 15 seconds, change direction of travel while swimming on front and back, combined arm and leg actions on front and back, finning arm action on back.This class is 40 mins.Stroke Development - Level 3For Ages 6 & up.  Prerequisite - must have successfully passed Level 2.Skills that will be taught in level 3: jump into deep water from the side, submerge and return tot the side, headfirst entry from the side in seated kneeling positions, bobbling while moving to safety, rotary breathing, survival float for 30 seconds, back float for 1 minute, change from vertical to horizontal position on front and back, push off in streamlined position on front, then begin kicking, swim the front crawl for 15 yards, swim the elementary backstroke for 15 yards, flutter, scissors, breaststroke, and dolphin kicks.This class is 40 mins.Stroke Improvement - Level 4 Skills that will be taught in level 4: Headfirst entry in compact and stride positions, feet first surface dive, swim underwater, tread water using 2 different kicks, survival swimming for 1 minute. Families will have to bake cupcakes, cookies and a family choice dessert in two hours. Families will be judges on taste, appearance and presentation. Families are required to bring their own ingredients and cooking/baking equipment to the challenge. You will have access to a counter top, stove top and oven.
